Day 52, Washington DC
Better late than never...
We finally arrived!!!
A mere 16 hours after scheduled arrival.
The advantage of arriving at 05:00 is that you have all day left for activities. One such activity in Washington DC is visiting one or many of the eminent Smithsonian museums. All are free of charge! As a philatelist I could obviously not resist
the Smithsonian National Postal Museum.
I have no idea what is so "Swedish" about these sweets, but at least I have tried them now.
Milkshake in the scorching heat! Finally some summer weather after the chilly West Coast. Oh, there is that Congress thingy, gee, what a coincidence that it ended up in this photo.
A typical, 10th century church.
There are squirrels everywhere in Washington DC. This one put up a show in the Sculpture Garden of the National Gallery.
Before visiting the National Mall myself I had always the impression that it looked so serene - in reality there is a cacophony of ice cream and food truck jingles, all trying to be louder than the other ones.
Abe!
The Reflecting Pool was more of a reflecting puddle today.
Donald was neither in the back or front yard, I am disappointed!
