This blog will document my journey around the world without flying. I will start the journey in Stockholm, Sweden and return to the same city, hopefully precisely 80 days later. The journey will start on 18th of April 2019 and is scheduled to end 6th of July 2019.

 

My reason for making the journey is a childhood fascination with the story by Jules Verne, as well as my affinity with slow travel (id est no flying involved). I made a similar, but shorter, journey in 2012 when I travelled overland from Singapore to Gothenburg, Sweden. Below I wish to document the costs of the journey for my own and potentially someone else's future reference. All prices will be provided per person although I am not travelling alone - if travelling completely solo you may therefore expect a somewhat higher price level.
